The Authority of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, has enabled the school UMYU Portal. And they created this website for old and prospective students of the University.

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU) was formerly Katsina State University. And the Katsina State Government established it in 2006.

It is to serve as a nucleus for the socio-economic, technological and political development of the State.

It aims to achieve the above by producing highly skilled human resources through conventional face-to-face and distance learning modes.

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, then the executive governor of Katsina State and later the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, began the work of creating the university before his death in 2010.

The Katsina State House of Assembly passed the law establishing the Katsina State University on 5 September 2006.

And the University began academic activities in January 2007 with three faculties. Namely: Education, Humanities, and Natural and Applied Sciences and 16 undergraduate programmes.

However, only the candidates that made UMYU their first choice of institution in the last UTME are invited to apply.

UMYU Post UTME Registration Requirements

The management of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its 2025/2026 academic session post UTME screening exercise.

However, to be eligible for the UMYU Post UTME Screening Exercise, a candidate must have:

1. Scored a minimum of 170 marks and above in the UTME examination;

2. Also, candidates must have obtained a minimum of five (5) relevant credits at O’ level (including English and Mathematics).

3. Additionally, candidates must have sat for the relevant UTME subject combination in the JAMB examination.

4. However, Direct Entry (DE) candidates shall besides the minimum five (5) O’ level relevant credits (including English and Mathematics).

And this is in relevant programmes applied. And shall also get the minimum ‘A’ level points for the programme they applied to.

How to Apply for UMYU Post UTME Form on UMYU Portal

Eligible candidates are to pay the sum of N2,000.00 only for the screening and aptitude test through the payment options provided on the University’s Application Portal.

Also, eligible candidates are to upload the following documents on the University’s website:

1. JAMB Result Slip for UTME candidates or JAMB Registration Slip for Direct Entry (DE) candidates.

2. Also, O’Level Result (candidates awaiting O’ Level results can apply and upload the results later).

3. Furthermore, form of identification (Indigene Letter, National Identification Card/International Passport etc.).

4. Also, Direct Entry (DE) Candidates are to upload their ‘A’ Level Result (Diploma, IJMB, NCE etc.).

However, candidates are to come along with the payment slip for the screening and aptitude test.

COVID-19 HEALTH REGULATION: Post-UTME Screening Exercise shall be conducted in a manner devoid of exposure to the dreaded COVID-19.

Thus, all candidates are to come along wearing face masks. And it would subject them to temperature tests, hand washing, and the application of hand sanitizer.

Also, candidates are to come along with the payment slip for the screening and aptitude test.

Please note that all visually impaired candidates are exempted from the Post-UTME aptitude test.
